Community Guidelines
Jogeave exists to make film, TV, music, and live-events production faster, fairer, and more trustworthy. Our community is built on mutual respect between hirers and workers โ directors, producers, crew, performers, musicians, and event staff from around the world. These guidelines apply to everything you post, share, comment on, or send across the Jogeave platform.
TL;DR โ Post real work. Talk about your craft. Help people get hired. Don't harass, spam, or circumvent escrow. If you're not sure whether something belongs here, ask yourself: would you say it on set or in front of a client?
1. Where These Guidelines Apply
These guidelines cover every surface of Jogeave where users can interact with each other:
- Commons posts across the General, Film & TV, Music, Events, and News channels. The Commons is what we call the shared feed in the app; these guidelines are its house rules.
- Comments, likes, shares, and reposts on Commons posts.
- Project discussion threads attached to films, music releases, and events.
- Profile bios, portfolio descriptions, and project listings.
- Direct messages between users.
- Crew invites, self-tape requests, and job applications.
2. What Jogeave Is
Jogeave is a hybrid โ part social network, part marketplace, part production infrastructure. Think of it as LinkedIn for creatives and media: where LinkedIn connects business professionals, Jogeave connects the people who make film, TV, music, and live events. You post work, you talk about your craft, you follow people you admire, you get hired, and the booking, escrow, and logistics all happen in the same place (paid bookings and logistics are not open yet; see our Terms of Service).
That combination โ social media plus a hiring and logistics marketplace โ is what makes Jogeave a platform rather than an agency. We do not represent or assign talent the way an agency does; the platform fees we charge are set out in our Terms of Service. Posting and networking on Jogeave is not, by itself, an agency booking. Whether your agency agreement permits it โ and how you use Jogeave to accept paid bookings โ is between you and your agency.
The best posts on Jogeave tend to be:
- Work you actually made โ shorts, reels, cuts, stills, tracks, mixes, rigs, or stage designs you helped build.
- Project announcements โ productions you're crewing, tours you're joining, releases you're launching.
- Craft discussion โ gear, workflow, scheduling, logistics, technique, industry news in the Film & TV, Music, or Events channels.
- Open calls โ castings, crew searches, and auditions, posted in the appropriate channel.
- Honest credit โ tagging the real collaborators on a project and crediting the people who worked on it.
3. What Doesn't Belong
Some content is always removed and may lead to suspension or permanent account termination:
Harassment & Hate
- Personal attacks, targeted harassment, or pile-ons against any user.
- Slurs, hate speech, or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Threats of violence, whether direct or implied.
Unwanted Sexual Content
Jogeave serves the full range of the production industry, including adult film and performance. Adult performers are working professionals, and their craft is part of the global media economy. We don't treat their work as second-class, but we do treat it as adult: explicit work will live behind filters and opt-ins, not in everyone's default feed, and until uploads can be marked as adult, explicit material is not allowed (see below).
- No explicit material anywhere, for now โ adult performers and crew may list their credits and post non-explicit work (stills, trailers, credits) in their portfolio and projects. Explicit material is not allowed anywhere on Jogeave until you can mark an upload as adult. When that ships, explicit work will be allowed only in your own portfolio and projects, marked as adult, and shown only to members who have opted in under Settings โ Content Preferences in the web app and confirmed they are 18 or older (and passed any age verification the law requires). Everyone depicted must be 18 or older, and if you post explicit material you must be able to produce age and identity records for every performer, as required by law (including 18 U.S.C. ยง 2257).
- Explicit content never belongs in shared spaces โ don't post explicit sexual imagery, pornography, or sexualized content to Commons posts, comments, project discussions, profile photos, cover photos, or bios. Photos and videos in Commons posts are checked automatically; until we review an explicit one, the web app blurs it behind a warning a viewer can dismiss, and we may then remove it.
- Any sexual content involving minors โ immediate permanent ban, preservation of the content, and a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law. No exceptions. This is the one rule we never bend.
- No unwanted sexual content in messages โ explicit images are not allowed in messages; other sexual content is allowed only when the recipient has clearly asked for it, and if they report it, we treat it as unsolicited. Unwanted sexual advances, explicit messages, or imagery sent to another member are grounds for immediate account action.
- Self-tape requests and auditions must not ask for nude or suggestive material.
Violence, Gore & Shock Content
- Graphic violence or gore, except in professional work posted with context that makes clear what it is (e.g. a horror reel or stunt breakdown).
- Content that glorifies self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
Illegal Activity
- Promotion or sale of illegal drugs, weapons, or stolen goods.
- Content that promotes human trafficking, labor exploitation, or child labor.
- Piracy โ distributing copyrighted footage, music, or scripts you don't have rights to.
Scams & Spam
- Fake casting calls, fake job listings, or bait-and-switch crew invites.
- Pyramid schemes, fake investment opportunities, or crypto pump-and-dumps.
- Repetitive posting of the same content, mass-tagging users, or automated posting.
- Phishing links or attempts to steal credentials, payment info, or identity documents.
Privacy & Personal Information
- Do not post another person's private information โ home address, phone number, government IDs, financial details โ without their consent ("doxxing").
- Do not share private messages, call recordings, or images of another person taken in a context where they had a reasonable expectation of privacy.
- Do not post intimate images of any person without their explicit consent. Non-consensual intimate imagery is removed immediately and may be reported to authorities.
Intellectual Property
- Only post work you created or have permission to share. Don't upload footage, music, scripts, stills, or designs you don't hold the rights to.
- Copyright holders can request removal of infringing material under the process in our Terms of Service. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.
4. Escrow Circumvention
Escrow โ funds held by our payment processor, Stripe, until they are released or refunded under Sections 5, 7, and 9 of our Terms of Service โ exists to protect both hirers and workers. Asking another member to pay you outside Jogeave for a booking confirmed on Jogeave, or offering to pay a worker directly to avoid fees, breaks the trust model that the entire community depends on. This applies equally to cash, wire transfers, crypto, gift cards, or any other method of payment outside the platform.
- Once a booking is confirmed on Jogeave, do not ask for or offer payment for it outside Jogeave โ in Commons posts, comments, messages, or anywhere else.
- Do not post payment instructions (bank details, crypto wallets, payment app handles) in public discussions.
- Do not pressure a worker to cancel a booking and re-do it outside of escrow.
Violations are grounds for immediate account suspension.
5. Honest Credits & Portfolios
Jogeave is built on trust between hirers and workers, which is why portfolio honesty matters more here than on a general social platform.
- Claim only work you did. Do not post someone else's reel, track, or stage rig as your own.
- Be specific about your role. If you were a PA on a feature, say so โ don't imply you directed it.
- Don't inflate credits. Spotify, Apple Music, and IMDb pages can be verified by placing a code in the page's bio. Only verify a page that is yours or that you are authorized to act for. A verified badge confirms that someone controls that page โ not their legal identity. Fake credits and false verifications are removed.
- Don't impersonate agencies, production companies, artists, or public figures.
6. Hiring & Audition Conduct
For Hirers
- Post real projects with real budgets. Ghost listings erode trust.
- Do not request nude or suggestive audition material. Ever.
- Do not ask workers for unpaid "test shoots" disguised as auditions.
- Respect worker time โ respond to applications within a reasonable window or close the role.
Service providers and event organizers follow the hirer rules when they hire, and the worker rules when they are hired.
For Workers
- Apply only to roles you're qualified for and available for.
- Honor confirmed bookings โ three no-shows lead to a permanent ban (Terms of Service Section 7).
- Do not spam hirers with duplicate applications or DMs.
7. How Moderation Works
We use automated checks, member reports, and a person on our team:
- Text checks โ the text of Commons posts, comments, and messages is normally checked by OpenAI's moderation service for hate, harassment, and similar harms. A flagged post or comment is taken down automatically shortly after it is posted โ it disappears for everyone, including you, and we do not currently notify you. A flagged message is not sent.
- Image and video checks โ photos and videos in Commons posts and messages are normally checked by our own explicit-content classifier, which runs on our servers, and images you upload for your profile, projects, services, and events are checked before they are published. In the web app, explicit media in Commons posts is blurred behind a warning a viewer can dismiss; the mobile app does not yet blur it. Media in messages is normally checked and the result recorded, but it is not blurred or blocked.
- Member reports โ any member can report a Commons post in the web app. A person on our team reads reports; there is no fixed response time. A post reported by several different members is taken down automatically.
- Muting โ in the web app, you can mute any user to remove their posts from your own feed without notifying them.
A person on our team decides any suspension or closure of an account. We usually suspend an account before closing it, but we may close an account after a single violation when it is severe โ for example child-safety violations, threats of violence, or fraud.
8. Reporting a Post or User
If you see something that breaks these guidelines:
- For a Commons post, use Report post in the post's menu in the web app.
- For a comment, a profile, a message, or anything else, email support@jogeave.com with a link or description and any context.
- For urgent safety issues โ threats, child safety, or fraud โ email support@jogeave.com as well, even if you have already used Report post. You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline.
- If you are in the European Union, you may also send notices of illegal content to legal@jogeave.com.
We do not tell the person you report who reported them, except for copyright notices, which we forward as described in Section 15 of our Terms of Service, or where the law requires it.
9. Consequences
Depending on severity and history, enforcement may include:
- Content removal โ the post or comment is taken down, or the message is not sent.
- Account suspension โ a person on our team hides the account from search and blocks it from signing in. A suspension has no fixed end date: it lasts until we lift it, or we close the account instead. When a suspended account signs in or opens Jogeave, we show that it is suspended and how to contact us; you can appeal as described in Section 10.
- Permanent termination โ for severe or repeated violations, the account is closed and you may not create another account. Escrow funds tied to existing bookings are handled per our Terms of Service.
10. Appeals
If you believe a moderation action was made in error, email support@jogeave.com within 14 days of the action, or of when you first noticed it if we did not notify you. Include the post, message, or account in question and any context. A person on our team reviews every appeal and replies by email with the outcome and the reason; there is not yet a fixed response time. If the appeal succeeds, we restore the content or the account.
A note on real-world safety. Jogeave connects people for work that often happens in person โ on sets, at venues, and while traveling. We provide tools like verified badges (which confirm someone controls a Spotify, Apple Music, or IMDb page โ not their legal identity) and reporting โ and escrow, once paid bookings open โ but we do not vet, supervise, or guarantee any user, and we are not responsible for what happens off the Platform. Use good judgment: verify who you're dealing with, keep arrangements on-platform, meet in safe settings, and trust your instincts. If you ever feel unsafe or encounter a threat, contact local authorities first, then report it to us.
11. Relationship to Terms & Privacy Policy
These Community Guidelines sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. They are part of our Terms of Service and are binding. Where they overlap, the Terms of Service govern.
12. Changes to These Guidelines
The production industry, our platform, and the kinds of content people share all change over time. We will update these guidelines as the community grows. This version applies to new members from the date above, and to existing members 14 days after we email them about it. Whenever we change these guidelines, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page changes. For a material change, we will tell you by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the law requires it to take effect sooner or it fixes a safety or security problem.
